Omorodion Completes Transfer to FC Porto After Passing Data to Porto Manager
Nigerian forward Emmanuel Omorodion has completed his transfer from Manchester City to Portuguese giants FC Porto, according to reports in the Nigerian media.
The 22-year-old signed a four-and-a-half year deal with Porto on Thursday and will join up with his new teammates for their pre-season training camp in Portugal.
Omorodion's move to Porto was confirmed by the club's president, Jorge Costa, who said that he had "completed the deal" after passing data about the player to Porto manager, Nuno Espirito Santo.
Espirito Santo is known for his tactical acumen and his ability to get the best out of his players, and Omorodion is expected to be no exception.
According to reports, Omorodion's transfer fee was not disclosed, but it is believed to have been in the region of £15 million.
The arrival of Omorodion is set to boost Porto's attack, which struggled last season without star striker Edinson Cavani.
He scored just six goals in all competitions last season as Porto finished third in the league table, seven points behind champions Benfica.
